主講簡介:劉躍,美國德克薩斯大學阿靈頓分校教授,1994年獲布朗大學博士學位。劉躍教授是目前國際上偏微分方程研究尤其是淺水波領域的一流專家。在偏微分方程,應用分析和流體力學,可積系統與孤子理論,非線性波方程的穩定性理論、奇異性形成、局部和整體適定性等領域取得國際領先的成果。在《Physica D》、《J. Differential Equations》、《Nonlinearity》、《Quart. of Appl. Math.》等國際重要刊物上發表論文80余篇。研究專長:應用分析和流體力學、可積系統和骨子里輪、非線性波方程等。

主講內容:In this talk, I will start by demonstrating the underlying complexity of the physical system,  and then I will discuss  possible simplifications in the "shallow water" regime along with the relevant physical phenomena. In particular, I will derive some simplified nonlocal shallow-water models with cubic nonlinearity, such as integrable Novikov and Modified Camassa-Holm-type equations. It is shown these approximating model equations possess a single peaked soliton and multi-peakon solutions. Finally I will prove the single peaked soliton is orbitally stable in the energy space.
